Glen E. Friedman – Images of the Underground

Glen E. Friedman “Fuck You All”
show @ 941 Geary Gallery
with Shepard Fairey & Justin Giarla

Fuck You All, is an international traveling collection of photographs that span the prolific and influential career of artist, Glen E. Friedman.

Now in its 13th year, this exhibition makes its way to San Francisco for the first time, bringing with it the work that presented some of the world’s most significant photographic contributions to the punk and hip hop subcultures and not only documented the genesis of skate culture, but helped shape it for generations to come.

Friedman’s 941Geary exhibition of Fuck You All will feature several never before seen collaborations with Shepard Fairey, which will be displayed along with the original photographs for the first time. These works are true artistic collaborations, executed symbiotically and inspired from a history of mutual respect between Friedman and Fairey.

Kseniya Simonova’s LightBox Sand Painting

Watch this video by Kseniya Simonova from the Ukraine and you will see that she is incredibly talented, which is why she won Ukraine’s version of “America’s Got Talent”. I’ve never seen the show before, but this performance is unreal. The music, and dramatic drawing with sand is really incredible.

Fleet Foxes Video by Sean Pecknold

Sean Pecknold is a Seattle based artist artist who has created some incredibly poignant videos and animations. The video “White Winter Hymnal” for Fleet Foxes–a sort of time-turning-backwards retrogression via a magical crank — ridiculously epic.
